About the project

Room to Live

A new neighbourhood the size of Wenceslas Square is being developed next to the Pod Krocínkou locality known for its luxurious interwar-era villas. This new project will offer everything residents could want, including its own park with 12 works from renown artists where you can relax and unwind. The area was always synonymous with an abundance of greenery land as well as parks and gardens, especially the areas around our project near Klíčov.

Project Architects

As the project’s deisgners, City Work Architects were able to reflect the historic legacy of the area with a modern approach to luxury living.

“We realize the historical value of the location, and we decided to maintain the current character of the area and the relics of its history, such as the wall of the old mill, a smokestack, and the office building. These elements create a certain identity and act as a reminder of the bakeries that originally populated the area,” Project Architect Juraj Sonlajtner said.

A Gallery Outside Your Windows

Find inspiration each and every day in the open-air collection of modern art called “Odkolekce”. The villas are surrounded by singular pieces created by contemporary Czech artists ranging from sculptures, paintings, and other forms of street art using elements and materials found in the demolition of the original dilapidated buildings. Imaging having a gallery right outside your window…

A Historic Legacy with a Modern Approach

One of the main reasons for preserving the legacy of the location is Hubert Gessner, who was behind the design of the Odkolek bakeries complex. This Vienna-based and Czech-born architect was one of the most prominent in the field during the first half of the 20th century.

Combining this historical legacy with a modern approach to living is our recipe for making the ideal home. At Metrostav Development, we build clever projects designed for contented living and car for their surroundings. The Viladomy U Mlýna project is no exception.
